Freelance Copywriting
2021 - 2022
I've worked as a freelance remote copywriter for a wide range of clients and companies. Most recently, I was contracted to write for HCA Healthcare full-time. Paired with a skilled team of marketing specialists, I wrote and edited compelling copy for dozens of hospital websites and medical practices. Employing my knowledge of SEO strategy, I helped finalize hundreds of specialty pages for healthcare practices across the country.
NYC Midnight Fiction/Screenplay Judge
August 2020 - Present
For two years, I've been a fiction and screenplay judge for this reputable, New York-based writing competition. My expertise lies in horror and sci-fi, which is why those are the two genres I tend to evaluate. This is the second organization for which I have been a judge, the other being the Vancouver International Film Festival. With every story I evaluate, I offer writers thoughtful feedback in a kind and constructive voice. A writer's best friend-- second to a cup of caffeine-- is a good reader, and I try to be that every time!
Hell Over Heels
October 2020
Modeled after the 70s Dating Game show, Hell Over Heels is a matchmaker game set in the fiery pits of Hell! Captive host Ben Bad helps artisanal voodoo doll-maker Morgana Beltane find love. Will she choose the French vampire obsessed with Tom Cruise, the sleazy Werewolf of Wall Street con artist, the fallen angel social media influencer, or the sweet but brainless gym rat zombie? Written and directed by Lane Matravers, Hell Over Heels was performed in October 2020 at Rolecall Theater in Atlanta, GA.

Witch in the Woods
March 2017 & 2020
Witch in the Woods is a one-act play following a rule-breaking witch named Jade. After casting a dangerous time-freezing spell, Jade is expelled from her magical academy and cursed to be a Wishing Witch: she must cast 1000 wishes in 100 days or lose her powers forever. Witch in the Woods was performed in March 2017 on Granville Island in Vancouver, Canada as part of the Brave New Play Rites festival. It was performed again (this time directed by Matravers herself) in February 2020 at Rolecall Theater in Atlanta, Georgia.

Oz Magazine
2019-2020
Oz Magazine is Atlanta's premiere print magazine on the Georgia film industry. While at Oz, I conducted interviews with various filmmakers, producers, and other industry professionals. I also reviewed films for the magazine and occasionally attended networking events on their behalf.
Icon English Vocab & Grammar Success
2017-2020
Located in Vancouver, Canada, Icon English is an ESL school for Chinese students. From 2017 to 2019, I acted as primary content writer for Icon English, creating educational material for English language learners of all ages. During my time there, I published multiple books on vocabulary, grammar, sentence structure, tenses, and more. I also wrote scripts for a children's educational web-series.
